Adobe: Hacker Attack Confirmed, 2.9 Million Accounts at Risk

Nearly 3 million Adobe users could be at risk due to a hacker attack on Adobe’s systems.

A new hacker attack has been carried out against a major company: this time it was Adobe‘s turn.
A few hours ago, Adobe itself communicated what happened to its users, using the official company blog.
It is therefore read that the IT system was violated and that there is reason to believe that a certain number of accounts have been “looted”.
We are talking about approximately 2 million 900 thousand accounts targeted for personal data theft, which in many cases also included credit card numbers.
Not only that: Adobe communicates that it is possible that the group that managed to breach the security system may have gotten their hands on the source codes of some of Adobe’s most globally popular software, such as Adobe Acrobat.
It seems the hacker attack occurred about a couple of weeks ago: during this time, Adobe security technicians investigated and tried to understand the extent of the problem.

Brad Arkin, head of security, has stated that in any case, there are no further risks for users at the moment.
Adobe has communicated that if there is a risk to the user ID and password, affected individuals will receive an email in the coming hours inviting them to change their password.
As always, a valid piece of advice is to change the access credentials for other sites if they are the same as those used for the hacked services.
An alert will also be sent if Adobe believes that credit card data has been stolen.
At the same time, Adobe informs that it has notified the banks to monitor credit card movements to avoid any issues.
Finally, the company has offered one year of free sensitive data monitoring to customers who request it.
