The SMS bug is an issue experienced by many people using an Android smartphone. It’s a rather sensitive problem, capable of undermining personal relationships and more: the SMS bug on Android, in fact, manifests itself precisely when sending an SMS.
Instead of sending the short message to the indicated recipient (whether it’s a contact from the address book or a manually entered phone number), the smartphone arbitrarily and randomly changes the recipient, picking any number from the address book.
Thus, it could happen that an SMS seemingly sent to a trusted friend ends up in the inbox of the wrong person, perhaps the very person being discussed (negatively?!) in the sent SMS. All this happens without the sender realizing it during the sending phase, only discovering the issue after the fact.
The SMS bug is indeed a significant problem that, apparently, can be resolved in the coming days: a message offering hope has appeared on the GalaxySsupport Twitter profile.
“NexusS owners! OTA update coming over the next few days. It will prevent an SMS from being sent to the wrong contact.” Therefore, an over-the-air (OTA) update for Android will be released in the next few days to fix the SMS bug. This is good news for those who enjoy texting without the risk of being unknowingly read by the wrong person.
