If you want to take your Forum to success, it will cost you a lot but will give you a lot! It’s a different job from common Web Marketing and prior preparation can help you with the choices you will have to make. Don’t fool yourself! It won’t be enough to install your favorite board, create a few topics, and pray for some users to come. If it were that easy, there would be many important Forums for the same sector, but instead, the web is full of Desert-Forums. Before moving on to the first chapter, I want to leave you a piece of advice, valuable to me: “When the administrator of a forum gets involved and participates in discussions, contributes, and makes himself classified as a user, he must be ready to “put up with” all the users who feel authorized to impose their opinions on administrative matters because they feel like administrators.”

Of course, this also includes those who disagree with how the forum is being managed, its editorial line, in short. For some types of Forums, it is preferable to have two administrators (or more), because it is really difficult to manage certain particular situations where users you have known for years will involve you. If instead, you have a clear idea of the project you want to carry forward and know what you are getting into, then you can also use a single user, but you must be ready for difficult choices. You will find yourself needing to reprimand a user you have known for years and this could be counterproductive for managing your relationships with the outside world. Having someone other than yourself play the role of the “bad guy” is the best. A good choice is to be able to surround yourself with excellent collaborators and make the difference between admins and moderators (or even other intermediate levels you can establish) clear and distinct so that users can understand where the limit is. It wouldn’t be bad to manage to have more than one Admin (administrator) in the forum. In this way, some situations could be managed, but finding people who follow you is not easy.”
