The launch of Ver. 1.2.0 of Nikon NX Field, the latest version of the remote shooting system for professional imaging agencies. The software update will further support the capabilities of Nikon’s Z 9 FX-format/full-frame mirrorless camera.
The Ver. 1.2.0 update will enable Z 9 users to easily detect nine types of subjects. This is the world’s largest range of subjects, including people, dogs, cats, birds, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trains, and airplanes. It also allows for more precise subject shooting, even with remote operation. Furthermore, the update supports the Z 9’s High-Speed Full-Area Capture+* function, which utilizes the world’s fastest shooting rate** (120 fps) and enables remote capture of those crucial, decisive moments that might otherwise be missed by the naked eye, yet are fundamental for sports photographers and photojournalists.
In addition, the Dual Stream technology built into the Z 9 allows for Live View display on a smartphone or tablet with an extremely short delay and no blackout during continuous shooting. This ensures reliable capture of those unmissable moments, even with remote operation. This technology, combined with the latest software update and a camera body design that eliminates the need for a mechanical shutter, makes the Z 9 the perfect choice for professional photographers.
Nikon will continue to provide updates for NX Field to support professional photographers who are active on the front lines of information gathering.
Notes:
*With AF/AE tracking. Normal image quality JPEG only. The number of frames that can be shot is less than that of high-speed continuous shooting. Recommended card usage is advised. With the C30 setting, images of approximately 45 megapixels can be shot at 30 fps.
**Among full-frame mirrorless cameras available as of October 28, 2021, based on Nikon research.
