Announced some time ago, the possibility of having multilingual simultaneous translations on Skype has excited many.
However, the scope of application until today, at least as far as the Italian user base is concerned, has remained limited, since Skype Translator only supported English and Spanish.
News today is the arrival of our language on the platform, as well as Mandarin Chinese.
The potential of this tool is therefore beginning to become more concrete and increasingly interesting, being able to start using the new support.
In fact, you can register to try the Skype Translator preview and – at least for this initial phase – you must have a device with Windows 8.1 operating system.
The other interlocutor can use any other platform, but the “sender” of the call must necessarily have the aforementioned operating system.
When starting the conversation, you will notice that Skype Translator will be able to automatically adjust the volume, highlighting the translation more and the original voice “in the background”, so as to have a clear and rather natural exchange.
You can also decide to completely mute the translation, in case you prefer to receive only the transcription of the simultaneous translation.
Definitely excellent news, therefore, for all Italians who are interested in this very useful functionality which will certainly not fail to include other foreign languages soon.
