In addition to connecting people in their daily and informal lives, Facebook apparently aims to focus on another aspect of each of our lives.
It seems, in fact, that the staff is working on “Facebook at Work”, a project that aims to make the social network giant a new benchmark for the world of business contacts.
The scoop came from the pages of the Financial Times: therefore, we are talking about a version of Facebook specifically for companies, workgroups, and any entity belonging to the “business” profile.
With Facebook at Work, one would not only establish professional connections, submit resumes, and advertise company profiles and skills.
On this new platform, in fact, you can work directly, sharing documents and thus becoming a real work tool.
In this regard, Facebook at Work could become a social network absolutely accepted by companies, as it allows them to work while still keeping the friendly aspect “cultivated” on the current Facebook platform, the one we are used to using, separate.
From the headquarters of the blue social network, there is silence: no confirmations or denials are coming, so it is difficult to understand if an expansion into the business field is actually of interest to Facebook’s top management.

Certainly – if the platform were to actually take shape – it would be a strong competitor compared to other realities, as it would take salient features from other social networks, mixing them into a single product.
Given the features anticipated by the Financial Times, in fact, Facebook at Work would undoubtedly resemble LinkedIn but would also include the functionalities of Google Drive and Microsoft Office.
Definitely a more complete product, but we need to evaluate whether companies can use it without risking losing privacy, which has always been an aspect on which the audience’s eyes have always been focused when talking about Facebook.
