Google revolutionizes email by presenting Inbox, a new service focused on high personalization.
Surprise move from Google: a new service connected to email usage has been presented. It’s called Google Inbox and it’s essentially a system for organizing, personalizing, and using your email inbox according to your preferences and habits.
As it’s used and as priorities and preferences are established, Inbox will be able to propose email views based on more precise criteria and according to the user’s “taste”.
This will create actual categories into which multiple emails of the same genre and type will automatically flow, making them easier to consult.
Furthermore, the new system will be able to “deduce” dates, times, and therefore appointments from the content of individual emails, which will then be remembered at the opportune moment.
Beyond a new system for consulting and organizing your email inbox, Inbox will effectively become a personal assistant, with an agenda that will populate with events, commitments, and recurring dates to remember. Therefore, the interaction with Google Calendar will be quite relevant in this regard, and everything will contribute to creating an information flow that Inbox will automatically organize.
Google is no stranger to experiments of this kind: something similar was in fact proposed with Google Wave, which later fell into obscurity and was indeed a service officially suspended by Mountain View.
At the moment, Google Inbox has not yet been made publicly available: only a limited number of people are testing the new service, with access granted either by invitation from someone who already has the new feature or by requesting it from Google staff themselves.
