Rumors about the upcoming release of Google’s new tablet are circulating more and more insistently.
According to the latest rumors taken into account by the Wall Street Journal – the media that broke the news – the “Nexus 9” tablet would be practically ready.
The release could happen very soon, in a few weeks: in fact, there is talk of an arrival on the world market that could be organized as early as mid-October or at the latest by the end of the same month.
The core of the news is represented by the name of the manufacturer that could sign the Nexus 9 tablet along with Google: the Wall Street Journal asserts that it will be HTC.
For the company, this would finally be a return to tablets, which have been set aside for some time in favor of smartphone development projects, for the most part.
For Google, it would instead be a stronger and more disruptive opportunity to curb other companies from such projects.
According to rumors gathered by the editors of the Wall Street Journal, in fact, Google’s choice would have fallen on HTC also to prevent Samsung from becoming too powerful compared to other companies using the Android operating system.
Both entities – Google and HTC – would therefore have mutual satisfaction in signing the project for this upcoming tablet which, it is hoped, can replicate the great success achieved by the previous Nexus model, developed instead in collaboration with Asus.
However, there are few rumors regarding the equipment of the Nexus 9; what seems almost entirely confirmed is that the chosen processor will be a Tegra K1 developed by Nvidia and the display could be 8.9 inches with a resolution of 2560×1600.
Certainly, if the news were to be confirmed shortly, within the next ten days – or even less – the two companies will issue official press releases and technical specifications of the new tablet.
