Here comes Yu Control, an entirely Italian parental control software that monitors children’s web browsing, sending SMS and emails to parents.
Managing children’s online browsing is increasingly difficult, also because dangers are not hidden only on adult content sites but, more and more often, even on sites considered harmless.
To help parents monitor web access by their own children, there is Yu Control a very Italian software presented this morning, February 10th, in Palermo.
The Internet is undoubtedly a resource, even for the youngest; however, the excess of all kinds of content is not always filterable, neither by the PC machine, nor by the parent, nor even by the child who often faces unexpected images. Whether violent or adult content, it is certainly not easy to manage access to pages too easily reachable even for an elementary school child.
Not to mention the danger of encounters that young children or even teenagers could have online: unfortunately, the news is full of stories of very young people being lured via chat or social networks.
Yu Control allows monitoring every single web access through the PC, sending an email or an SMS. At this point, the parent can decide to interrupt the child’s browsing, even remotely: just send the order to the PC by sending an email or SMS.
Yu Control also helps educate children by setting rules regarding hours, manners, and accessible sites, thus providing a kind of “roadmap” both for the machine and the child: in this way, even without parents at home, the little ones will no longer spend hours and hours at the PC uncontrollably but will be subject to precise rules.
Within Yu Control it is also possible to report inappropriate content not detected by the parental control: by reporting links considered dangerous, the staff can forward them to the competent authorities for further checks.
Yu Control will be available for download starting February 12, 2011 at www.yucontrol.it, priced at 79 euros. The software can also be tested with a free trial version: in this case, 10 days will be available to test the product.
