YouTube: Paid Music Streaming Under Study

To counter the advance of Spotify, Google might soon introduce a YouTube channel dedicated to music streaming, likely on a paid basis.

Available in Italy for a few weeks now, Spotify is undoubtedly one of the most loved and appreciated programs for music streaming.
Google, it seems, has decided not to stand idly by and watch Spotify’s advance, planning to propose an alternative model on the platform arguably most used worldwide for music and music videos: it is understood that future plans include the creation of a dedicated channel on YouTube.
This news comes from the editorial section dedicated to the tech world in “Fortune“: it is here that the arrival of a Google-branded music streaming platform is anticipated, leveraging the enormous existing user base, that is, the YouTube audience.
By making some services paid, it is quite logical to imagine that advertising and all related accompaniments during video playback would disappear, thus still finding a way to monetize.

A full confirmation from Google regarding the matter has not been issued, but there is a sort of admission that work is underway in the direction of a paid streaming channel on YouTube: a company spokesperson has indeed stated that some content creators find it plausible to generate revenue beyond advertising, so work is effectively proceeding in this direction.
There are therefore signs of innovation at Google – YouTube: it seems it will not be long before we can discover the new service offered through the video-sharing portal.
