YotaPhone release: dual-screen smartphone coming soon

Officially presented and already available in some countries, here is a new entry in the smartphone sector: it isYotaPhone, a device designed in Russia. Last year, around this time, on FullPress we reported on the previews of YotaPhone, illustrating a project still in the study phase, albeit already started. The news of the commercialization of this device, which not only exists but will soon arrive in our country as well, is from these days.
What strikes most is certainly the very conformation of the terminal, characterized by the presence of adual screen.
On one hand, you can have a classicLCD displayof 4.3 inches, while on the back cover there is ascreenequipped withe-ink technology.
Regarding the first display, it has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, while the second has a resolution of 360×640 pixels and offers good contrast, as is the case with e-ink screens.
In this way, it will be possible to view basic information on this display even in direct light, exactly as happens withebook readers.
Regarding the rest of the technical specifications, a 1.7 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 SoC is noteworthy.
The RAM is 2 GB and the internal memory is 32 GB: characteristics that place it in the high-end segment of the market. The chosen operating system is finally Android, version 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The camera system features two cameras: the main one is 13 megapixels and is accompanied by an LED flash, while the secondary one is 1 megapixel.
Despite the two screens, the battery is not affected: the e-ink display is “thrifty” to the extreme, while remaining always on for displaying the date, time, calendar, incoming messages, and social network updates.
Regarding distribution, it has officially started in Russia, Spain, France, Germany, and Austria.
Thearrival in Italy is expected in the first months of 2014; as for theprice of Yotaphone, it stands at 499 euros.
