Xbox Surface, 7-inch gaming tablet coming soon

Xbox Surface: this would be the name of a new 7-inch tablet, coming soon from Microsoft. A different concept from the first Surface: in this case, it would be a sort of hybrid, perfect for gaming.

As the new Surface, the first device of its kind from Microsoft, makes its debut in the tablet sector, rumors about further novelties are already circulating.
According to recent leaks, the next tablet to emerge from Redmond’s labs will be 7 inches and will be called “Xbox Surface“.
Although these are rumors, reported by the always well-informed The Verge, it’s possible to start anticipating some leaked features online, shortly after the official presentation of Surface.
The 7-inch device is expected to feature a 1280×720 pixel resolution display, and its overall design would suggest that, rather than just a simple tablet, the new device would sit halfway between a tablet and a game console.
Several clues point to this conclusion: an ARM system-on-chip, a powerful AMD graphics card, and 5GB of DDR3 memory, thus offering significant bandwidth.
Essentially, everything needed to run even the most complex and demanding games smoothly.

There is a great deal of secrecy surrounding this project: Microsoft has decided to develop the product entirely in-house, at its Silicon Valley campus, without resorting to external companies, as is generally the case for any type of device.
The same approach was taken for the design of Surface, so it would not be surprising to think that something is indeed moving forward at Microsoft in this regard, albeit under strict secrecy.
