Xbox 720: Previews and Presentation Date

Some previews of the Xbox 720 are surfacing, and a rather close presentation date is being hypothesized.

It appears that only a few months remain until the release of Xbox 720, the highly anticipated gaming console for gamers.
The latest leaks suggest a specific presentation date, coinciding with an event specifically created to reveal everything about the new Xbox: the rumored date is May 21st, so in just a few weeks.
Along with this information, which it must be clearly stated has not yet been officially confirmed by Microsoft, other, likely less exciting, rumors have also surfaced.
We learn from Bloomberg that the new Xbox might not feature backward compatibility with its predecessor.
This is the sore point that, if confirmed, would stun long-time console owners intending to “upgrade” by purchasing the new one, as the games from the 360 would not be usable on the new Xbox 720 at all.
The reason for the lack of backward compatibility lies entirely in the fact that Xbox 720 will apparently be equipped with AMD’s x86 SoC chip, whereas the Xbox 360 used PowerPC architectures.

The hypothesis of the Xbox 720 operating in an always-on mode is also gaining stronger traction. If this were true, it would mean that to function, the new console would need to be perpetually connected online.
This detail also raises doubts and perplexities among potential buyers, especially those living in areas where the digital divide is particularly evident.
Official statements are awaited from Microsoft to understand if things are indeed as described.
Regarding the release date of Xbox 720, considering the timing of the presentation, American media speculate a launch sometime in November or by the end of October, to be competitive during a crucial period for purchases in this sector: the holiday season.
