Windows Server 8 beta: download available

Windows Server 8 beta is available for download: following its release announcement in September, here are the first official steps towards the final version.

Microsoft, through Bill Laing (Corporate Vice President Server and Cloud), has officially kicked off a new phase for Windows Server 8: download now available.
The Windows Server 8 project was announced last September when, as a preview for hardware manufacturers and some developers, an initial version was made available to gather feedback and reports for improvement.
With this first phase concluded, the availability of Windows Server 8 beta for download has now begun.
In short, it’s noticeable that Windows Server 8 aims to host substantial application workloads, thanks to its powerful server platform.
The Hyper-V component then allows the creation of virtual networks for sharing the same network infrastructure among multiple users. This is possible because particular attention has been paid to virtualization to offer a multi-tenant platform for cloud computing.
User interface automation operations are simpler and smoother, thanks to the Windows PowerShell functionality.
Furthermore, the aspect of disaster recovery has not been underestimated, focusing efforts on basing software technologies on hardware components that ensure greater convenience.
This will also make the transfer of virtual machines and servers easier and, above all, without losing network assignments.
The beta of Windows Server 8 is therefore already available, and developers and users can undoubtedly contribute to the product’s improvement by continuing to report any bugs or simply by expressing personal impressions.
