Vodafone’s fiber optics arrive in Milan and here is the first offer designed by the telephone operator; it is called Vodafone Fiber.
Fiber optics become a reality in Italy and, in particular, in Milan: it is Vodafone that presents the first offer aimed at Milanese citizens.
The proposal – whose commercial name is “Vodafone Fiber” – will be structured primarily considering the supply of connections at 100 megabits per second download, while upload will be around 20 megabits.
Initially, Vodafone Italia aims to serve approximately 25% of Milanese homes, thus potentially 30,000 users, by the end of 2013, to achieve total city coverage by 2015.
As for the commercial package offered, for a price of 45 euros per month, you will be entitled to ultra-broadband connection (according to the parameters just illustrated), as well as calls to national and international fixed lines (to Europe and North America) included. Furthermore, phone calls to Vodafone mobile numbers are also included in the price.
All this will be completed with a Vodafone Station 2 with a Wi-Fi module and a mobile internet key, with 1 GB of traffic per month included.

Vodafone particularly emphasizes that the advertised speed of 100 megabits download and 20 upload does not refer to the theoretically achievable speed, as is common to read when discussing connections. In this case, it refers to real speed, therefore it is possible to talk about absolutely actual values.
