Vodafone Broadband: 1000 Municipalities Project Launched in Pallare, San Pietro Viminario, Noepoli, and Suni

Vodafone’s broadband for the 1000 Municipalities project arrives in Pallare (Liguria), San Pietro Viminario (Veneto), Noepoli (Basilicata), and Suni (Sardegna).

Vodafone is now providing its broadband service to the first 4 Municipalities included in the 1000 Municipalities project, an initiative aimed at addressing the digital divide.
Connectivity in Pallare (Liguria), San Pietro Viminario (Veneto), Noepoli (Basilicata), and Suni (Sardegna) is made possible by utilizing the highly efficient 900 MHz frequencies for UMTS.
As Vodafone explains, “radio technology is indeed the most suitable for eliminating the digital divide because in the most isolated areas of the country, it delivers performance comparable to fixed broadband. It is fully compatible with the most modern and widespread communication devices, both at home and on the go (e.g., smartphones, tablets), meets cost-efficiency criteria, and allows for rapid implementation.”
The rollout timeline for broadband in the selected Municipalities was anticipated to be longer. However, given the significant demand from over 1000 municipalities across Italy, Vodafone has managed to shorten the timeline for this initial, albeit crucial, step towards connecting areas previously unreached by the internet.
Municipal administrations interested in joining the 1000 Municipalities project, and citizens wishing to nominate their town, can contact Vodafone toll-free at 800713937 or visit their website at www.1000Comuni.vodafone.it.
