A music service will soon be available on Twitter, for sharing news and songs with your followers. Its name, as we learn in these hours, will be “Twitter Music” and it will arrive very soon on the tweeting social network, probably by the end of March.
The launch might initially only be for iOS-based devices, while nothing is known about a possible arrival on Android or Windows Phone.
Naturally, such a project will benefit from the collaboration of an equally well-known and widely used service: Twitter has indeed formed an alliance with Soundcloud, a true institution in the mobile music sector.
The music universe appears to be a vibrant and profitable one, a new realization for the web giants (from Google to Amazon, not to mention Apple, which is undoubtedly the leader and ahead of its time with its iTunes, all have invested in this direction) but the trend is particularly evident on Twitter.

Just consider the following that singers and bands have on the microblogging platform: it’s no coincidence that among the most followed personalities worldwide, the top spots are held by singers.
To mention just the first on the list, here is Justin Bieber’s account which has reached 35.9 million followers.
It is not yet known what the economic model behind the new service will be: will it be monetized through the sale of tracks or also through the sale of services, such as ticketing and merchandising?
It is still too early to discuss this, but further details will arrive soon.
