An official biography of Steve Jobs is in development, set for release in 2012 with the title “iSteve: The Book of Jobs”.
“iSteve: The Book of Jobs“: it’s worth keeping this title in mind, as in 2012 it could become one of the most talked-about books in the industry. This is, in fact, the first official biography of Steve Jobs, the only one currently authorized by the head of Apple.
It will be written by Walter Isaacson for the publishing house Simon & Schuster, after a long period spent alongside Steve Jobs: the author has indeed been in close contact with Mr. Apple for a good three years.
After various books focused on the charismatic figure of Jobs, distributed freely but never formally authorized, here comes an official book that speaks, yes, of the daily life within Apple, but also delves into Jobs’s private life and even his childhood. Extensive interviews with the book’s protagonist himself, many meetings with colleagues, family members, and even with competitors of the man-Steve: this, in a nutshell, is the content of “iSteve: The Book of Jobs”.
The news about this anticipated publication arrives concurrently with some rumors (unconfirmed to date) regarding a supposed worsening of Jobs’s health condition, who is currently away from Apple, engaged in his greatest challenge: the fight against a rare form of pancreatic cancer.
Hoping for Steve Jobs’s recovery, one cannot help but wonder if this official biography is not a way to leave a testimony of himself as close as possible to his own idea of personal life history.
