Sony Xperia Z1: Top-of-the-line Photography Smartphone

Sony has just unveiled its new top-of-the-line smartphone at IFA 2013, named Xperia Z1.
More than just a simple smartphone, this device can be rightly called a “photosmartphone” as a significant portion of its technical specifications focuses on its camera capabilities.
Indeed, the 20-megapixel camera sensor takes center stage, alongside a bright and expansive 5-inch Full HD Triluminos display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 441 PPI.
The camera features a Cmos Exmor RS sensor, which Sony states will produce sharp and brilliant shots even in low-light conditions, just like a high-quality digital camera.
This is also thanks to the fast shutter speed and 3x zoom.
The lens is Sony’s own “G Lens,” with a 27mm wide-angle and an F2.0 aperture; all image processing is handled by the Bionz image processor for mobile.
It almost sounds like we’re talking about a compact camera, yet the Sony Xperia Z1 is a smartphone, and all its technical features have been revealed.
The processor is a fully integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, featuring a 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 GPU for graphics, and a module for 4G LTE network connectivity.

It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The device runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
The battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh, and in terms of design, an aluminum frame holds together the two tempered glass panels that make up the front and back of the smartphone.
Another interesting aspect is that Sony has once again focused on device protection, including a waterproof coating.
The release of the Sony Xperia Z1 is scheduled for the end of September, but the device’s price has not yet been announced. We will provide updates as soon as these details are officially confirmed by Sony.
