Sony announces a new series of ultra-compact SSDs for fast data transfer.
Sony expands its range of external Solid State Drives (SSDs) with the prestigious and innovative SL-E series. Ultracompact in size, the new high-capacity external SSD features an elegant design and the power to transfer data quickly and securely.
Designed to meet the needs of increasingly demanding professionals and users, this practical external drive is smaller than a credit card and allows you to always carry your most important data with you, with a maximum storage capacity of 960 GB.

Compatibility with a wide range of devices
The new SSD models feature reversible USB Type-C ports, so they can be connected to the latest generation phones, and come with a C-C cable and a standard A-C cable. This allows them to be used with a wide selection of devices, including Mac, Windows PCs, tablets, and Android smartphones.

The SL-E series is an excellent solution for professionals in the digital photography sector. The USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface offers high capacity and an ultra-fast connection to your PC, making it the ideal partner for high-performance tethered shooting with cameras like the new Sony α7 III.
The transfer speed of up to 540 MB/s (read) and 520 MB/s (write) allows for quick backups, image checking, and retouching. The result is a portable and durable tool that proves incredibly useful during shoots, but also for all professionals who need to easily store, transport, and access significant amounts of data.
A secure way to store data
The SL-E drive uses flash memory with no moving parts to enhance shock resistance and reduce the chance of mechanical failure of the drive, and consequently, the dreaded data loss. At the same time, the ENC DataVault Lite software ensures maximum file security.
The design of the E series is characterized by meticulously crafted details, such as the easily visible access LED and the textured surface, designed for a firm grip as well as for immediate product identification.
The 240 GB, 480 GB, and 960 GB models will be available from May 2018.
