Sony P: Price and Features of the Clamshell Tablet

Among the various tablets, the Sony P stands out distinctly because its form factor resembles a seashell. Here’s an overview including the features and price of the Sony P.

Sony P is a new tablet that at first glance resembles the PSP due to its rounded, clamshell form factor, a departure from the classic tablet design.
The comparison with the PSP is not unfounded: while possessing all the characteristics of a tablet, this device features PlayStation certification and thus allows for the download of original games directly from the official store.
Regarding its specifications, it is equipped with two 5.5-inch touch LED screens each, with dimensions of 18 centimeters in width and 15.8 centimeters in overall height when fully opened.
Despite having two monitors, it maintains a low weight: only 370 grams.
The mobile processor is a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2, with 1 GB of memory and storage expansion options via MicroSD card.
The operating system is Android Honeycomb 3.2, and it comes with several pre-loaded apps, with the possibility to download more via Android Market.
Sony P has a 5-megapixel rear camera capable of recording HD video, while the front camera – functioning as a webcam – is 0.3 megapixels.
It features a lithium-ion battery for which Sony has not provided any indicative battery life figures, only noting that a full charge takes 7 hours.
Bluetooth, GPS functionality, 3G + Wi-Fi, wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b/g/n), and wireless WAN complete the package, ensuring the Sony P is fully mobile.
The Sony P tablet has an approximate price of 599 euros, VAT included, as recommended by Sony.
