Sony announces the launch of the new ultra-portable projector MP-CD1 starting next spring. As large as the palm of your hand, MP-CD1 is capable of projecting content up to 120” from a close distance of about 3.5 meters.
The Sony MP-CD1 is an extremely versatile projector, weighing just 280g, it instantly transforms any surface into a large screen and operates absolutely silently, making it perfect for business presentations, gaming, outdoor events, or family movie marathons.
The projector’s bright display uses DLP® IntelliBright™[i], which uses advanced image processing algorithms to increase brightness without affecting battery life.
The projector features an exclusive design that minimizes heat while maintaining high brightness, in a pocket-sized format that won aniF 2018 Design Award. With a brightness of 105 ANSI lumens and a built-in 5,000 mAh battery, it can project clear and brilliant images with up to two hours of battery life. This battery life can be extended by charging the projector via the USB-C port, even during use, eliminating the need for a separate AC adapter and the risk of forgetting it. Additionally, when used outdoors, the MP-CD1 can be recharged using a portable power bank.
With a super-fast startup time of just 5 seconds and simple connectivity options via HDMI, content can be sourced from various devices, including PCs or even PlayStation, and shared with everyone in seconds. This prevents any continuity issues in a business meeting, while the optional HDMI dongle[ii] enables wireless connection with a variety of devices, including smartphones and tablets, for streaming content, thanks to the ability to simultaneously power the dongle via USB, even during projection.
The projector’s automatic keystone correction ensures distortion-free full-screen viewing, even when projecting at an angle, while the dynamic image mode optimizes the brightness and saturation of images and videos. A standard tripod mount on the bottom of the device facilitates projection on any surface, including the ceiling. The MP-CD1 projector will be available starting April 2018.
