Sony has announced the features of the new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1, a full-frame that will make waves.
Sony is ready to launch a new full-frame compact camera: it’s called Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 and will arrive in stores during December.
Although there is still some time before you can purchase it, Sony has already disclosed the technical specifications of this camera, considered by the company itself to be the first with a 35 mm full-frame sensor and 24.3 effective megapixels.
The sensor is an Exmor CMOS that utilizes a fixed focal length lens with a maximum aperture of F2: it is a Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm F2 that also allows for a minimum focus distance of 20 centimeters, with Macro mode.
Despite all this, this camera is characterized by its lightness and compact size: it weighs only 482 grams, with the battery and memory card inserted.
The camera’s sensitivity range goes from ISO 100 to 25,600, but the values can be expanded using Multi Frame Noise Reduction. Sensitivity can also be reduced to an expanded ISO 50.
Everything is processed by the fast and precise BIONZ image processor, which also allows for exporting image data in 14-bit RAW format: a feature that advanced enthusiasts will appreciate.
It is also possible to shoot Full HD videos with low noise and high quality, at frame rates of 50p/60p or 25p/24p (progressive), even in low light conditions.
Naturally, there are numerous included functions that allow you to control the scene and the camera’s automatic levels, in order to obtain always impeccable photos and videos.
Among the accessories that will enhance the usability of this camera, we highlight:
– a powerful flash
– an electronic viewfinder
– an optical viewfinder
– a clip-on LCD monitor.
For greater ease of use, you can also consider using a high-quality case, a lens hood, and a thumb grip.
The price of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 has not yet been announced.
