Translucent technology is just one of the features of the Sony Alpha A57, the new digital SLR coming out in April.
The official announcement has arrived regarding the release of the new Sony Alpha A57 camera, also identified by the codes “SLT-A57” or “Sony α57“.
The new digital SLR camera will be available during April 2012, with a variety of compatible accessories.
Regarding the technical features, we can note that the sensor is a 16.1 effective megapixel APS CMOS Exmor HD.
The shooting speed is remarkable: up to 12 frames per second.
This is also thanks to the processor designed and used in this model: a latest generation BIONZ that allows instant processing of even large volumes of data related to photos taken and videos recorded.
In this regard, it should be noted that the Sony Alpha A57 allows filming of very precise Full HD videos at 50p, thanks to an impeccable focusing system that becomes the perfect ally for shooting moving subjects.
Everything is further facilitated by the fact that it is very easy to keep everything under control, thanks to the 7.5 cm Xtra Fine tilting LCD display – corresponding to 3 inches – on which you can monitor the scene and review photos and videos.
Reduced noise and an ISO range from 100 to 16000 further provide a good result and great performance, even when the camera is used by amateur photographers not yet accustomed to the professional world.
The most outstanding new feature is the possibility to use the new “Automatic Portrait” function, the mode that allows cutting the background in favor of great emphasis on the framed subject. This also involves the Face Detection function, resulting in cropped or heavily zoomed images maintaining the right pixel balance.
Using this mode, you can always save both the final photo and the original one, so you can compare and possibly choose later.
For post-production, it is useful to know that the Sony Alpha A57 allows the use of many creative filters, offering 11 types of effects and 15 modes to process images without necessarily having to use a PC and special software. Sony has not yet announced the price of the Sony Alpha A57.
