In a few months, Apple might bring Siri to Mac as well: rumors are abundant.
Apple’s voice assistant – Siri – is reportedly about to take another step towards wider adoption.
Recent rumors suggest that Siri will soon be implemented on Macs as well.
So, not just a voice assistant on smartphones, but also on Apple’s home desktop computers.
The news – strictly an unconfirmed report, it’s important to emphasize from the outset – comes from the website 9to5Mac, usually very well-informed about the news from the Cupertino-based company.
The release of Siri on Macs is expected in the coming fall, coinciding with the operating system upgrade to version OS X 10.12, also known by its codename “Fuji”.
It seems that the work done over the past three years on the creation and refinement of Siri is about to bear fruit on desktop platforms as well, after a rather satisfactory launch and usage on mobile devices.
Siri will likely function via microphone and speakers, or dedicated external accessories will be launched; alternatively, it appears that work is also underway on configuring a dedicated key on the keyboard, which would thus be somewhat dedicated to the world of Siri.
However, these are only hypotheses, as no clues have emerged from the parent company so far.
The staff at 9to5Mac has dedicated a very detailed article focusing on this anticipation, citing direct sources within Apple.
It is likely that Apple executives may begin to hint at this possible news in June, during WWDC, the annual conference dedicated to the group’s news.
Probably only then will we discover all the details of the matter.
