The smartphone market is more dynamic than ever: even Mozilla seems poised to enter the fray with its Seabird.
It would still be in its embryonic phase but Mozilla Seabird is already making waves: apparently something is moving to bring Mozilla into the smartphone market.
The few leaked indications suggest that various non-trivial details are being studied: meanwhile, there’s talk of a wireless battery, greatly enhancing ease of charging. Furthermore, the 8 Megapixel camera competes with the latest digital cameras.
Equipped with an audio jack, a miniUSB port, and a Bluetooth headset that seems transformable into a mini-mouse, it’s clear that the Seabird will certainly not skimp on features and accessories.
The most captivating innovation, if the project truly takes the direction announced by a video (at the end of the article), would lie in the possibility of making the Seabird smartphone a sort of small but powerful projector: by placing the Seabird on a dock station, you can view what’s on the display on a wall or any large surface.
A rather ambitious project in a field that currently seems to be all about multi-functional tablets and smartphones, aiming to replace notebooks and even the smallest netbooks.
