Samsung Galaxy S III has been officially presented: here are its price and final features.
We have been following with interest, in recent weeks, the flurry of rumors and Samsung Galaxy S III. However, today is the day of the official announcement and thus it is possible to know with certainty the technical specifications of the new Samsung Galaxy S III.
The processor is a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 at 1.4 GHz (Exynos 4212) and the chosen operating system is Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), therefore dismissing the idea that there would have been the previous version waiting for an upgrade: Android 4 will be native.
The video section features an 8 Megapixel camera and a front camera – the secondary one suitable for video calls and video chats, for example – of 1.9 Megapixels.
All of this converges on the screen, a bright and large 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display.
What captures most of the attention is the recognition system useful to personalize the user experience: Samsung Galaxy S III is able to detect the tone of voice, gestures, and the face of the person using the smartphone. This happens through the Smart Stay function which is able to recognize the user’s eye, framing it via the front camera and thus activating certain functions.
Commands can be dictated by voice, since Samsung Galaxy S III is able in a way to interact.
Samsung itself, in the press release introducing it, gives an example: when the alarm rings but you want to keep sleeping a bit longer, you just have to say the word “snooze“. This function can be activated for many other purposes as well, from turning on the camera to sending sms and emails.
Many features are useful for easy and fast sharing, including the ability to send photos and videos wirelessly to the TV, thanks to the system called “AllShare Cast“.
The arrival in Italy is scheduled for the end of May: from May 29 onwards European stores will be restocked and then worldwide distribution will follow.
The initial colors on the market will be Pebble Blue and Marble White but Samsung announces that other shades will be arriving soon.
As for the price of Samsung Galaxy S III, it should be around 699 euros: certainly not few but for a smartphone like this this amount is more than justified.
