The PlayStation Store remains closed: despite the hypothesis of reopening following the partial but gradual resumption of PlayStation Network activities.
The reasons are not entirely clear, but what is certain is that the PlayStation Store will remain closed. No reopening for tomorrow: the maintenance phase continues, which, according to the very scarce information released via the official blog, should last until the end of May.
Rumors about the PlayStation Store reopening had gained traction considering the announcement of the Network reopening, which will occur at midnight.
Currently, Sony finds itself in the difficult situation of having to contain security issues, the resulting user concerns, and the damage caused to the company by the earthquake in Japan. A decidedly dark period that – it is estimated – has resulted in over 120 million in damages.
A significant blow for Sony, which after more than a decade of good profits sees a sharp slowdown.
Therefore, it’s useless to try to access the PlayStation Store: as soon as it’s possible to purchase again, the blog itself will announce it. Currently, there is not even an indicative date, as clearly specified by those who manage the company’s blog pages.
