PlayStation Now: streaming gaming arrives on TVs, PCs, and smartphones

Sony develops and unveils PlayStation Now, a new service for streaming gameplay without necessarily owning a console, available on PC, TV, smartphone, and tablet.

Sony makes a significant announcement at CES 2014 with a noteworthy innovation in the gaming sector: the unveiling of “PlayStation Now“.
This is a new system for online gaming, playable even without a console: users will be able to stream games using a PC, a mobile device (tablet or smartphone), or a smart TV connected to the network.
All video games available to PlayStation Now users will essentially be cloud-based, eliminating the need to physically download games; everything will reside on Sony’s servers.
PlayStation Now also addresses a significant concern for gamers: title backward compatibility.
With this system, players can enjoy titles from the past or those previously used on older Sony consoles, selecting them from the cloud.
Furthermore, you could start a game on your PlayStation 4, save it, and then resume playing later in your living room, in front of your TV screen, or on your PC (or laptop) monitor.

At present, we cannot provide precise details regarding the release date of PlayStation Now in Italy or Europe generally: Sony executives have decided to initiate an initial testing phase exclusively in the United States.
The debut is not expected before next summer, and according to what was announced during the CES 2014 presentation, testers will be gamers who own a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation Vita.
PlayStation Now will also be available as a new optional feature on Sony Bravia televisions launching in the coming months.
