There are some noteworthy updates about the upcoming release of the new Parrot Ar Drone 2.0, the lightweight quadcopter that is becoming increasingly popular.
The new model should hit stores during May, and compared to its predecessor it features a major upgrade in terms of video equipment: the new Parrot Ar Drone 2.0 will have an improved and, of course, still integrated camera that, in addition to recording HD videos with resolutions up to 1280×720, will also allow taking photographs.
What happens to the images shot while flying?
The footage captured is streamed live on the screen of your smartphone (or tablet) which – for those who have never seen one of these “toys” – is the control console of the quadcopter.
Obviously, how can we not consider the immediate possibility to post videos and photos directly on major social networks? After all, this Parrot is based on Wi-Fi control, so communication – and sharing – speed is an essential aspect to offer and keep in mind.
Another data saving option is the possibility to automatically transfer everything – at the very moment you use the Parrot and its camera – directly to a USB flash drive, since the quadcopter includes a dedicated slot inside it.
It also seems that the autonomy of the Parrot Ar Drone 2.0 will be greater, allowing aerial maneuvers for a longer time compared to the first model.
Improvements are also apparent in the pressure sensor, for overall better stability.
Remember, this device can be used with both iOS and Android devices, making it very versatile and usable with a wide range of devices.
As for the price of Parrot Ar Drone 2.0, it has been set at 303 euros.
It is reasonable to think that the previous model will probably undergo a natural price reduction, but nothing has been officially announced yet; this is just speculation.
