Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS40 has been recently unveiled by Panasonic, alongside its compact counterpart Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS45.
The two cameras are conceptually similar, although they present some differences.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS40 is equipped with a 14.1 Megapixel sensor, while its lens is a LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMARIT F2.5 with a 24mm ultra-wide angle and 5x optical zoom (equivalent to a 24-120mm on a 35mm film camera).
Furthermore, it is possible to reach 10x equivalent with the 5x optical zoom, thanks to the activation of the Intelligent Zoom function which, combined with Intelligent Resolution, allows for reasonably sharp photos.
The camera is also capable of producing footage, specifically 720p HD videos, saving them in Motion JPEG format.
Although this compact camera can be used in fully automatic mode, thanks to Intelligent Auto, it is possible to apply special effects and other functions capable of personalizing photos and videos.
All of this can then be controlled, activated, viewed, and selected via the practical 2.7-inch Intelligent LCD screen.
The price of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS40 has not yet been announced.
