Panasonic DMC-3D1: 3D Camera with Dual Lens

The Panasonic DMC-3D1 sees double: this 3D camera, small and compact, allows you to shoot photos and videos in 3D, thanks to a dual lens system.

Panasonic has just unveiled a truly unique 3D camera: the Panasonic DMC-3D1 is a compact camera but – despite its very small dimensions – it features two 25mm wide-angle lenses. It shoots 8-megapixel stills and 1920 x 1080 3D videos, thanks to Panasonic’s MEGA optical image stabilization and 4x optical zoom. This is the core of a very sophisticated mechanism, unique of its kind, especially on a compact camera of these very small dimensions.
However, it’s possible to select the preferred setting between 2D and 3D, and you can also choose which lens to use, selecting it directly on the 3.5-inch touchscreen display on the back of the camera.
The continuous shooting speed is remarkable, so much so that it’s possible to create good quality night panoramas, by relying on the system’s ability to superimpose multiple shots taken in rapid succession.
This particular function is called “Intelligent Handheld Night Mode” and – as the name suggests – it eliminates the need to necessarily use a tripod.
Social media sharing has also been well-addressed: simply select the desired photos directly from the display, connect the camera to your PC, and start the transfer process, with the option to send emails or add comments.
The price of the Panasonic DMC-3D1 is not yet known.
