Outlook.com officially launches to integrate Hotmail and Live

Outlook.com is ready and has completed its beta phase: Hotmail is retiring, as is Live, both absorbed into Outlook.

Microsoft has announced that its product Outlook.com has entered its final release phase, available to everyone starting today.
In recent weeks, Outlook.com has been released in preview; after a testing phase lasting about six months, Outlook.com was used by as many as 60 million users, leading to service improvements and its current state.
This is therefore the decisive step to retire Hotmail and Live: owners of @hotmail.com, @hotmail.it, or @live.com addresses will not lose their email accounts but will necessarily have to migrate to the Outlook.com platform.
Microsoft has in fact decided to converge everything here, ensuring that the new project is the sole platform dedicated to email services.
The migration of Live and Hotmail addresses to Outlook.com will be gradual: the company reserves time to complete all necessary operations, given the significant amount of data to be transferred from various servers.

In any case, Microsoft informs that everything will be completed by the end of the summer, and it’s also good to know that various new functionalities will be activated on Outlook.com in the coming weeks.
Currently, the Redmond company reports that not only Hotmail and Live subscribers are moving to Outlook.com, but also users from other services: in particular, 1/3 of them are reportedly coming from Gmail.
All users of Microsoft’s current email services will receive an email invitation starting today to switch to Outlook.com: step by step, they will be able to access the new platform without losing their existing email address.
