Opera Software has started distributing Opera 10 for free in its beta version. The new browser also includes Opera Turbo, to significantly speed up browsing.
The download of Opera 10 is available from Opera’s website in English for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
The interface has been revamped with more appealing graphics, but above all, performance will make the difference: compared to the previous Opera 9.5, there will be a 40% increase in the loading speed of websites and web pages, especially on JavaScript-heavy portals.
Updates will be automatic, and new features will also speed up download times as Opera 10 integrates a proxy server that compresses web pages similarly to how Opera Mini, the mobile application, works.
Initial feedback appears positive, to the point of having passed the Acid Test 100%; now we await the responses of users who, with curiosity, have started downloading Opera 10 and putting it to the test.
