From early 2015, potential buyers will be able to do online shopping with Bancomat, even without a credit card.
A rather important innovation is arriving in the e-commerce sector: starting from the first quarter of 2015, online purchases will also be possible without owning a credit card.
It will not even be necessary to use a prepaid card – another universally accepted payment method – but the Bancomat card can be used for online shopping.
The announcement was officially made by the “Bancomat” consortium, which indicates that the innovation could be implemented as early as next March 2015.
The operational procedures for making online payments with your PagoBancomat card have not yet been detailed, however, the General Manager Sergio Moggia explained that the online payment system with Bancomat will adhere to the highest security standards.
To allow anyone to make purchases in any online store, no special procedures will need to be activated, nor will many codes need to be entered.
Simply – Moggia further explains – you will need to request it from your bank, which will then proceed to authorize web services.
In this way, once you have selected the products of your interest and proceeded to confirm the order in the cart, at the time of payment with PagoBancomat, you will be redirected directly to a dedicated web page hosted by your banking institution.
From there, the payment confirmation operation will be completed.
The system, therefore, appears very similar to what millions of people use every day when choosing to pay with PayPal: in this case too, in fact, you are redirected to the PayPal website itself to confirm the amounts to be paid to the merchant.
An official launch date for the new service is therefore awaited, which will certainly be a valid alternative for many people who do not own a credit card.
