NVIDIA brings PC Gaming to the big screen, thanks to a revolutionary large-format gaming display.
PC gaming comes to the big screen with BFGD, the exclusive large-format gaming display presented by NVIDIA. Developed in collaboration with partners such as Acer, ASUS, and HP, the BFGD is a 65-inch high-end 4K 120Hz HDR display, integrating both NVIDIA G-SYNC technology and the world’s most advanced media streamer, NVIDIA SHIELD. This combination guarantees the best big-screen gaming and streaming experiences.
“PC gamers require high performance and instant response times, all aspects that, until today, limited them to traditional desktop displays,” said Matt Wuebbling, Head of GeForce Marketing at NVIDIA. He continued, “BFGD changes things. With the latest NVIDIA technologies integrated into this new display, PC gamers can enjoy their favorite titles on the big screen without annoying latency.”
The heart of BFGD: G-SYNC HDR
The latest G-SYNC HDR technology is the heart of BFGD and handles the constant synchronization of the display’s 120Hz refresh rate with that of the game being played. The G-SYNC Variable Refresh Rate technology ensures an unprecedented gaming experience in terms of immersion, fluidity, and responsiveness on displays of this size.
Furthermore, the 4K HDR display features direct backlighting, 1,000 nits peak luminance, and DCI-P3 color gamut to ensure state-of-the-art image quality.
Ultra-low latency for gaming
Nothing is more important to gamers than responsive gameplay. G-SYNC technology brings the same ultra-low latency levels found in G-SYNC gaming monitors to BFGD, whether gaming on PC, Android, console, or even when using NVIDIA GameStream technology from a desktop or laptop PC.
Big-screen streaming
The integration of SHIELD, based on Android TV, into BFGD allows gamers to easily switch from video games to other forms of entertainment. The included SHIELD controller and remote allow users to navigate and access major streaming apps, including Netflix, Amazon Video, and YouTube.
Thanks to Google Assistant support, everything can also be managed via voice commands. G-SYNC HDR technology enables video playback at native frame rates, including 23.976, 24, and 25 FPS. This ensures the screen’s refresh rate matches the video source’s frame rate, eliminating interpolation and displaying video content in the best possible conditions.
Availability and pricing
The new BFGDs are available, by appointment only, for hands-on demos at CES 2018 in NVIDIA’s gaming suite and the ASUS ROG exhibition space, both at The Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, and at the HP Pepcom and Showstoppers press events, held on Monday and Tuesday evenings, respectively. Market availability is expected next summer, when technical specifications and prices will also be announced.
