The Nokia Lumia 520 is Nokia’s affordable offering to aggressively target the entry-level smartphone market.
Nokia is introducing a range of new devices, among which is the new Nokia Lumia 520.
This is a smartphone that stands out for its affordable price while still boasting good hardware specifications.
Let’s start with its processor: it’s a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon supported by 512 MB of RAM.
In this regard, it doesn’t differ much from the Nokia Lumia 720 we discussed yesterday on FullPress, although internal memory is a point of reference: in this case too, the available storage is 8 GB, expandable up to 64 GB with a microSD card.
The screen, however, is different: the Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4-inch IPS display with WVGA resolution of 800×480 pixels.
The main camera is 5 megapixels with autofocus and the ability to record 720p video. A second, front-facing camera, typically used for video calls, is missing.
Obviously, in this case too, the operating system is Windows Phone 8, but unlike its bigger brother, this smartphone does not include Wallet functionality, nor NFC technology, nor the possibility of wireless charging.
Regardless, it’s a smartphone with interesting features and a highly sensitive screen – so much so that it can be used even with gloves – especially considering the price of the Nokia Lumia 520: 139 euros, which is very little for this type of device.
