Nintendo 3DS on sale with a 30% discount, also in Italy: the gaming company has decided to carry out a strong commercial move to curb low sales.
Good news for those who want to purchase a Nintendo 3DS, not as good news for Nintendo itself: to deal with the underwhelming sales of the device, they have decided to reduce the price with a 30% discount.
This drastic commercial measure will initially come into effect in the United States and then extend worldwide, including the Italian market.
In short, starting from August 12 in the USA, Nintendo 3DS will cost 169 dollars, whereas up to now the price has been set at about 249 dollars.
Considering that at present in our country the recommended retail price is 249 euros, the discount should still bring the price down to 169 euros, unless a different decision is made regarding the applicable discount percentage.
And what about those who have just purchased a Nintendo 3DS at full price?
The company thought about everyone, offering free downloads of some games, as a “compensation” for the different treatment that future buyers will receive.
To be entitled to 10 free games, registration on the Nintendo eShop portal must be done by August 12. Then you will need to access the area dedicated to this promotion and start downloading, completely legally and free of charge.
The titles reserved for Europe and therefore also for Italy are not yet known, but if we take a look at the possibilities offered to American users, we can note, for example, the presence of Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, and Donkey Kong Jr.
Perhaps the Nintendo 3DS has suffered greatly from the competition of the over-sold tablets or perhaps the glasses-free 3D technology is not as appreciated or desired by the market.
The fact is that Nintendo at this stage will have to heavily focus on the upcoming launch of the Nintendo Wii U, trying to repeat the success of the first version.
