Nikon D3300 is the new DSLR focused on compact dimensions: here are its features and price.
A new DSLR arrives, this time of interest to those seeking professional performance but in a compact and manageable size.
This is the Nikon D3300, a very interesting mirrorless camera precisely for those looking for a small yet powerful machine.
The dimensions indeed leave no room for doubt: the new Nikon D3300 is “condensed” into just 124 Ă— 98 Ă— 75.5 millimeters, a truly reduced space. The weight also meets these requirements, at only 410 grams (excluding the battery).
Despite its great compactness, the technical specifications are of a mid-to-high level.
It starts with a 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor – without an OLPF optical filter – and with an ISO sensitivity range of 12,800 (expandable to the equivalent of 25,600).
The image processing engine is an EXPEED 4, meaning the camera captures shots and videos and processes them with great speed.
So much so that it also features burst shooting up to 5 frames per second, with good results even in low light conditions.
Naturally, as is now standard on virtually all cameras, the Nikon D3300 also produces Full HD quality video up to 50p/60p with continuous autofocus and a stereo microphone integrated into the body.
Of course, for different results, an external Nikon ME-1 microphone can also be used, as there is a dedicated output; however, it should be noted that this accessory is sold separately and not included in the sales package.
There is no shortage of customizable scene and editing functions, nor is there a Wi-Fi connectivity module, for easy sharing of captured and/or recorded material, even in real-time.
The Nikon D3300 will begin to be available for sale starting in February and, regarding the price, at the moment it can only be communicated in dollars for the US market: the Nikon D3300 bundled with the Nikkor 18–55mm VR lens will cost $649.
