The Nikon 1 V2 is the new interchangeable-lens compact camera from Nikon: here are its features.
Nikon has introduced the brand new Nikon 1 V2, a compact camera with interchangeable lenses born from the success of its “predecessor”.
Speed is the distinctive feature of Nikon 1 V2 which combines extreme portability with ease of use.
The credit for such swiftness undoubtedly goes to the dual EXPEED 3A image processors that manage and process images at 850 megapixels per second.
Excellent performance can also be noted during shooting: the shooting speed recorded is up to 15 fps2 with continuous autofocus or up to 60 fps3 with fixed-point AF.
The CX-format CMOS image sensor has a resolution of 14.2 megapixels with light sensitivity extendable from 160 to 6400 ISO.
It’s interesting to know that this camera features an automatic image sensor cleaning function.
It is also possible to record Full HD movies at 60 and 30 fps, with frame rates of 60i, 60p, and 30p.
The electronic viewfinder has 1,440,000 dots, allowing consistently good framing performance, aided by the built-in flash that can activate in low-light conditions if necessary. However, an external flash — the Speedlight SB-N7 — can also be used, which must be purchased separately as it is not included in the camera’s sales package.
Various functions also help with shooting: from the “Best Shot Selector” mode, to the “Slow Motion Playback” and “Smart Photo Selector” to “Motion Snapshot,” everything contributes to achieving excellent images, which can be reviewed on the LCD screen. All these options certainly benefit less experienced users, guiding them step by step in the optimal use of the camera.
As for the dimensions of the Nikon 1 V2, the camera measures 109 x 82 x 46 millimeters, weighing 278 grams.
Prices for the Nikon 1 V2 in Italy are not yet known, but in the United States it is said to be $900, with a 10-30mm lens.
