Nexus Prime: Official Presentation on October 19th

The Google Nexus Prime, the new Google phone equipped with Android 4.0, will be officially unveiled on October 19th, directly from Hong Kong. An unexpected decision, much like the postponement of its launch, due to the death of Steve Jobs.

The time has finally come to meet Google’s new smartphone: Nexus Prime will be officially presented on October 19th, with the event taking place in Hong Kong, China.
The presentation comes a week after the postponement decided by Samsung and Google: although the decision initially seemed strange and unexpected, the reason became clear in the following days.
The two companies decided to postpone to a later date to honor the memory of Steve Jobs, who passed away just days before.
Alongside the Nexus Prime, the Android 4.0 operating system, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich, will also be unveiled.
In this regard, Google’s management has just placed the half-ice cream, half-android character representing the new OS in the lawn of their headquarters’ garden, as can be seen from both the photo and the video at the end of this article.
During the event, which we recall was initially scheduled for California but will apparently now take place on the other side of the world, the official name of the new Google phone will also be revealed: we’ve always called it Nexus Prime, but another name, Galaxy Nexus, is also in contention.
Anyone will be able to follow the presentation, as it will be streamed live on YouTube by accessing the dedicated Android channel at 9:30 local time, which translates to 3:30 AM here in Italy.
