Google unveils the technical specifications of the new Nexus 7: price known for the United States, while awaiting the European price.
Google, besides unveiling the new product Chromecast, also focused heavily on the presentation of Nexus 7, the new tablet that has therefore reached its second generation.
What is certainly striking is the resolution of the 7-inch screen: 1920×1080 pixels Full HD. It is currently the maximum for a display of this size.
Regarding the heart of this tablet, we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon s4 pro processor, a 1.5Ghz quad-core.
The RAM is 2 GB and as for internal storage, there is the possibility to choose multiple capacities: we will list them when we talk about prices.
The operating system is also new which, in addition to updating Google devices already on the market, is natively available on the new Nexus 7: so, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is here.
There are two cameras available: the rear one is 5 megapixels, while the front one is very basic, specifically 1.2 megapixels.
The design is slightly different compared to the previous model: Google has indeed managed to design a thinner tablet.
The connectivity section highlights a novelty, namely Bluetooth 4.0 low energy; furthermore, a version with a 4G LTE network module will also be available.
The aim is therefore to repeat the great success achieved by the first-generation Nexus 7, focusing this time too on affordable purchase prices.
These are the prices of the new Nexus 7:
- – New Nexus 7 16GB (Wi-Fi only): $229;
- – New Nexus 7 32GB (Wi-Fi only): $269;
- – New Nexus 7 32GB (4G LTE): $349.
Regarding its arrival in markets, Google has stated that the first users who will be able to proceed with purchases through the Play Store will be – starting next week – those from the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Korea.
In the coming days, more information will be available regarding European releases and our local prices.
