Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (TEE) is expanding its S300 Hard Disk Drive (HDD) series to meet the specific storage needs for small and medium-scale surveillance applications. The new models, available in 4TB and 6TB, utilize SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) technology to offer higher density storage solutions. Both drives are optimized for small/medium-scale applications, enabling higher capacities at a lower cost and with reduced power consumption. This allows end-users to implement their surveillance systems while simultaneously meeting both technical and budget requirements.

The improvements made in this series address the growing demand for flexible scalability in security camera systems, such as that required by Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs). In the new 4TB and 6TB hard drives, the number of simultaneously supported High Definition (HD) camera streams has also been doubled, from 32 to 64. Furthermore, the buffer size has been increased to 256MB, enabling smoother data transfer from high-resolution cameras.

The Toshiba S300 4TB and 6TB HDDs are now available on the market.
