Google’s “Chromecast” multimedia stick has been renewed and presented in a dual version, namely “classic” and “Audio”: here’s what to expect.
Google has just announced a series of new products, ranging from the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system to new smartphones.
Among these innovations is a completely renewed version of Chromecast, the multimedia “stick” that extends Google’s services – and more – to your home TV.
First, a decision was made to focus on a stylistic restyling, giving it a round shape that echoes the Google Chrome logo.
Then, the choice was made to add more vibrancy, with a selection of multiple colors: in addition to the classic black, Google also presented a red and a yellow version.
As for functionality, it’s worth noting that the new Chromecasts allow for reduced buffering, and more generally, video resolution will be improved compared to the previous model.
Several innovations have also been made to the app, which allows for faster interaction with the Chromecast stick, making its operation increasingly simple and intuitive.
In addition to the model that allows transmitting TV programs, movies, and various content from a smartphone to the TV, Google has also presented a second version: Chromecast Audio.
This device will be used to stream music from a smartphone to a connected speaker, thanks to the inclusion of a classic jack.
Chromecast Audio is compatible with iPhone, iPad, or Android devices, as well as Chromebook, Mac, and Windows laptops.
Both versions require power and support Wi-Fi networks.
Regarding the price, it is the same for both Chromecast systems:
- New Chromecast: 39 euros;
- Chromecast Audio: 39 euros.
Purchasing is already possible directly from the Google Store.
