Mozilla Firefox: more privacy with “Forget” and DuckDuckGo

Coming soon on the “Forget” button on Mozilla Firefox, along with the link to the DuckDuckGo search engine: what is it about?

News in sight for users of the navigation software Mozilla Firefox: two new useful tools for privacy control will soon arrive.
The new features are close to being released in one of the future updates, and the occasion coincides with a decidedly important and noteworthy anniversary for the Mozilla staff.
Indeed, right at this moment, the 10th anniversary of the official release of this project, which has become ever bigger and more widespread, is being celebrated.
A challenge more than amply won, which managed to shake and gain a co-starring role with the then-dominant browser: Internet Explorer.
As it blows out ten candles, here is the gift Mozilla has decided to give users: more useful tools for protecting their privacy.
In particular, a new red button will arrive on every page opened with Mozilla Firefox: this is the “Forget Button”.
A sort of history deletion mechanism, but more intuitive and faster. Above all, it is a feature that can be activated at any time without having to access the settings panel, as it is a button clearly visible on every page.
You will be able to choose each time whether to “forget” the browsing of the last 5 minutes, the last 2 hours, or the preceding 24 hours.
As soon as this choice is made, the effect will be a cleanup of cookies, history, and the closing of open pages.
This will not be the only novelty related to the issue of privacy defense: a connection with the DuckDuckGo search engine.

This means that every user can perform all the searches they wish and need, with the certainty that they will not be tracked.
Not only that: the results in SERP will not be personalized but “generalist,” so to speak. This will happen precisely because users will in no way be “filed” by DuckDuckGo.
In any case, other engines will continue to be offered, such as the evergreen Google and Bing.
However, the DuckDuckGo option will at least allow users to have an additional choice, and an anonymous one at that.
