Live for Facebook Mentions: app for live streaming video

Facebook is jumping on the trend of the moment and announces a new feature in sharing options offered by the blue platform.
Live for Facebook Mentions is in fact coming, an app for live video streaming.
Periscope has globally pioneered this new – and apparently much appreciated – form of communication and sharing; the social network giant doesn’t seem to want to stand by and watch and therefore presents its own app that can perform the same function.
It is important to note, however, that Facebook Live for Mentions will not be immediately available to everyone: the social network staff has in fact decided to start by dedicating the application only to VIPs and public figures of a certain caliber.
Not by chance, the app “inherits” part of its name from the programFacebook Mentions, used to allow direct interaction between famous personalities and the public. Everything happens via chat, even in Italy, after registration by the personality who wishes to conduct a virtual “meeting” with their fans.
Therefore, Live for Facebook Mentions appears to be more of an evolution of the aforementioned program, rather than a true open challenge to Periscope and similar apps.
However, it is reasonable to think that this integration may serve to “test” the product in certain ways, before offering it widely to all subscribers of the social platform.
The operation of Facebook Live for Mentions is very simple: once the stream has started, all “followers” will see an alert appear in their “News” feed, on their timeline.

At this point, they can follow the event, liking or sharing the video.
They will also be able to comment and, on the part of the VIP, they can monitor the number of people connected in real-time to the stream and all comments.
At the same time, they can also apply a sort of moderation, by being able to delete certain comments.
Finally, the streaming video can be watched again because, once the live broadcast is concluded, it will remain available on the official page of the public figure in question.
