LG has just presented its new powerful smartphone: its name is LG Optimus G. Here is the basic information officially released by the company itself.
LG is launching a new smartphone, unveiling its main features. It’s called LG Optimus G and will initially be released in Japan, before starting to be marketed in Europe as well. While waiting to know the release date and price, here’s what is already known.
Let’s start with the heart of this smartphone: the technical sheet shows the presence of a Quad-Core Krait CPU on Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processors at 4×1.5 GHz. Power is therefore assured, but for those who fear excessive energy consumption, here’s the good news: LG Optimus G optimizes battery consumption thanks to a mechanism called “Asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing (aSMP)”.
In practice, the system turns off individual cores independently of each other when there’s no need for the entire “engine” to be running.
Furthermore, the surplus power is provided by the Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB of DDR2 RAM. Internal storage is 32 GB.
The operating system running LG Optimus G programs and applications is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
It should be noted, returning to the discussion on energy performance, that the battery itself of this smartphone ensures good durability: it is 2,100 mAh, and the company also emphasizes that it can be recharged up to 800 times to 80%, which does not happen on average with other batteries (500 times).
The screen is large and bright, being a G2 Hybrid Touch display: it is 4.7 inches WXGA IPS True HD Display + with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels (pixel density of 320ppi) and a 15:9 aspect ratio.
The main camera is noteworthy: it is a surprising 13-megapixel high-resolution camera.
Currently, the release date in Italy is unknown, but we will report on it again, also specifying the price of the LG Optimus G, as soon as there is official information.
