It’s official: Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G are coming to Italy. The retail prices have also been unveiled. Here’s how and where to buy them at the official price.
It took a while, but it’s finally here: the Kindle Touch – also in the Kindle Touch 3G version – has just appeared on the Amazon Italy store.
The main feature is already in the launch name: the most famous ebook reader now has a touchscreen, useful for turning pages with just a touch, for example, but also very effective when taking notes.
The display is 6 inches and features high-contrast e-ink technology that allows reading without glare, even in direct sunlight.
The weight remains low for both new models: the Kindle Touch weighs 213 grams, while the Kindle Touch 3G is a few grams heavier, reaching 220 grams. This means that, even when using the touch functions with one hand, you can effortlessly hold the Kindle with the other hand without having to put the device down.
According to Amazon’s indications, the battery life lasts up to 2 months of use, provided that Wi-Fi is deactivated.
Speaking of connectivity, it’s interesting to know that the cost of the 3G connection, for the Kindle Touch 3G, is completely free as it is covered by Amazon: this means there will be no subscription fee to pay for downloading books wherever you are.
Even with 3G, downloading ebooks from the Kindle Store is quick: a maximum of 60 seconds.
You can already pre-order both reading devices on the Amazon Italy website, but it’s important to note that shipments will begin on April 27th.
Regarding the price of the Kindle Touch, it is 129 euros, while the price of the Kindle Touch 3G is 189 euros.
