The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9-inch is the new Amazon tablet with a larger screen compared to the base model.
Amazon has announced the release of its new tablet series for the Italian market as well. After detailing the prices of the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch and its features here on FullPress, here’s an in-depth look at the new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9-inch Tablet.
Conceptually similar to the base version, the tablet stands out with its larger, equally noteworthy screen: it’s an exclusive HDX with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a pixel density of 339 PPI.
The processor is a super-fast 2.2 GHz quad-core with 2 GB of RAM. Notably, it uses the Adreno 330 graphics processor, an excellent ally for speedy consumption of more demanding content like games and videos.
The rear camera is 8 megapixels with an LED flash and functionality for recording 1080p HD video. The second camera is HD 720p.
According to Amazon’s estimates, the battery lasts for 18 hours of reading-only use, while for full tablet functionality, an autonomy of 12 hours is estimated.
As with the 7-inch version, the operating system is Fire OS 3.0 Mojito, which is based on Android.
Despite being a large-format tablet, it remains light and practical to use, weighing just 374 grams.

- Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 inch 32 GB: 429 euros;
