Apple Music and iTunes Match can now “contain” more saved tracks: the previous limit has been raised.
More and more storage space for Apple users: it has been learned that the limits related to services such as Apple Music and iTunes Match have been revised and “corrected”.
Up until now, personal libraries could hold a maximum of 25,000 archived items; the news these days is the raising of this limit.
Apple Music and iTunes Match will indeed be able to accommodate up to 100,000 songs per account.
It is therefore important to point out that this new threshold does not affect Apple’s catalog at all, which can be accessed without any limitations: it only and exclusively concerns personal libraries saved in cloud storage systems provided by Apple.
The news had been in the air for several months, but without ever being confirmed in practice.
In recent days, rumors about it have multiplied and finally – a few hours before the implementation of the new feature – Apple’s senior vice president Eddy Cue confirmed the scoop to the editorial staff of the MacRumors website, as reported by Ansa.
In summary, let’s recall how iTunes Match works: this service created by Apple allows users to store all their songs, organizing them within their personal Apple library.
In this way, for example, you can transfer songs from physical CDs, automatically converting them into content to be saved in your Apple “cloud” within your iCloud account.
Thus, regardless of the device used, you can always access all your personal music, at any time, from anywhere.
The limit of 25,000 songs that could be saved in the cloud was considered generally sufficient for the average person.
However, in recent months, Apple has decided to extend this storage possibility even further.
The new feature has not yet been automatically activated on all accounts, but – according to various reports on social networks, forums, and blogs – it appears to be a gradual rollout that, within a few days, will finally encompass all subscribers to these services.
